Plant Seeds of Faith

This month, I’m sticking with the topic of planting seeds because I’m excited about it. Spring has arrived, a season of change and renewal.

To prepare, I enrolled in a creative writing course in January. For me, it was a small investment of time and energy. It marked the start of my journey to becoming the writer I’ve always wanted to be.

But the creative writing course wasn’t the only seed I planted.

I’m focusing more on my private practice. I’m embracing creative ideas as they arise and dedicating time to read more. These small steps are all part of nurturing the garden of my personal growth.

If you’re like me, you spent the winter hibernating. You contemplated and meditated, waiting for Spirit to guide your next step.

And sometimes we ignore that voice because of the stories we carry about ourselves. There is doubt and insecurity, even the belief that we’re not capable. We question what we hear and assume we misunderstood. We convince ourselves that we made it up.

Why? Because it’s never easy to step out on faith with an idea, a dream, or a calling. It requires courage and the ability to trust in yourself. It also requires a belief that you are worthy of what you ask for.

But stepping out on faith isn’t optional; it's necessary.

You’ll know when it’s time because you’ll feel an urge pushing you into discomfort. You might resist and hold on to the seeds.

When will you plant them?

Seeds can’t grow if you keep holding on to them. Imagine how much progress you could make by next spring if you plant those seeds today. Every positive step you take now brings you closer to the life you envision.

I remember when I first started my private practice. I faced financial difficulties while waiting for credentialing with specific insurance companies. Through commitment and perseverance, everything worked itself out.

So, whether it takes four months or four years, transformation is certain. Be patient. Don’t give up.

But if you never plant the seeds, you’ll never know.

Consider what you have to lose by investing in yourself. By betting on yourself?

Here’s a challenge for you. Within the next 24 hours, write one small step you can take toward your dream and commit to it for the next week. Write it in a journal to hold yourself accountable. By taking that initial step, you’re not just dreaming. You’re turning your idea into action.

Because let’s be honest: you devote yourself to someone else’s dream more than your own. How do you think that will turn out?

It never ends well. You’ll keep thinking about what you could do while someone else is actually doing it.

Step out on faith. Even if you only have ten minutes a day, pour those minutes into yourself and your dream life. Put action behind that idea. Plant the seeds.

Your dream is waiting for you to make the first move.
